I'm buying this C200, can help me know what's wrong with the headlights ?

Hi guys, this is my first post, Sorry I speak low Norwegian so I'll keep this English, Hope it's ok :)

I'm buying this C-200 Kompressor (2001 Mod)

I just test drove the car and it's perfect in every single way, almost no rust, good engine, no noises from the chassis, good suspension, new tyres, et..

However, the headlights have a very big gap, and I can't identify why, My only guess is it's a bad aftermarket, the owner told me he bought it like that, it is an aftermarket headlight set, but why does it have such a HUGE gap on top ? this black color is rubber that is loose..

do you think this is something dangerous ? if it's just a bad kit i'll just buy original headlights and replace it, but I checked the hood and the bumper, the chassis didn't have an accident for sure, but I can see signs that the bumper was taken off.

Any ideas ?? I'm supposed to let him know if i'll take it or not tomorrow :)

Looking at the pictures, it seems to me the problem might be, as you suggested, bad aftermarket lights. The lights could have been adjusted on both sides. Looks like a job not well done as well. The hood, fenders and bumper seem to be close to where they should be, not perfect, but close. If the lights are ECE-approved, then they should not be illegal, as long as they are not equipped with HID-bulbs.

The bumper has been taken off to change the headlights.

Thanks a lot for your help, Yeah I highly doubt there was anything wrong with the car, the owner seemed to be a very good guy who likes his car, besides the usual mercedes benz rust (which is very little) and this headlight gap, the car makes me happy, I think i'll go ahead with the purchase tomorrow and keep you updated here !

It's going to be a daily driver and a project car, So i'll be doing lots of posts about the work i'll be doing :)

Just updating yo, I picked up the car today, and the seller even found the original headlights in his garage !

I also found another car on youtube having the same headlights, also shows the same ugly gap

So I'll be installing the originals and have this gap gone :)

besides that the car is perfect and drives awesome !

I'll be posting updates in the forum, hopefully it'll be a nice project :)

thanks for the help !
